1 John 5 tells us “The victory that overcomes the world is our faith.” Our faith in Jesus makes us more than a conqueror. We not only win, we win overwhelmingly. Our sufferings don’t have to define us, they can refine us. We don’t always see our future, but we know if we walk by faith in God our future will be bright.

1) Purpose in the Pain: Suffering is part and parcel to everyone’s life. You can have victory when you realize there is purpose to the pain. Our suffering is transformative, brings compassion, is a catalyst towards God, and purifies us.
2) You are Loved: The core of the Christian message is the truth that God loves us. God’s love is affectionate, intense and eternal. Because of God’s love we can come to a whole new self-esteem and appreciation of self as God’s.
3) We Walk by Faith: Faith is written about all over the place in the Bible. Our faith in God is a gift that opens up the door for God to work in our life. We don’t always see the future, be we walk forward boldly by our faith in God. Faith brings a toughness that can face difficulties and overcome.
4) God is Good: God is good all the time. Even though we experience difficulties, goodness and mercy follow us. Everything God has made in abundance is good. Recognize and appreciate the goodness of God and you will be lifted up!
